Sessional Lecturer – Curating Now (FAH451H5)

About the role

The University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a Sessional Lecturer to teach FAH451H5 “Curating Now”. The course guides graduate students in developing curatorial project proposals across various formats, building on concepts from FAH310H5.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prepare and deliver weekly lectures (Wednesday 9 am‑12 pm) for a class of approximately 14 students.
• Create and assess assignments, tests, and final project proposals.
• Grade student work, submit grades, and hold regular office hours.
• Coordinate a guest‑speaker session within a one‑week class period.
• Maintain course records and adhere to university teaching standards.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Art History; a Ph.D. is essential.
• Demonstrated mastery of curatorial theory and practice.
• Proven excellence in teaching a similar Visual Studies course.
• Experience as the sole instructor of a university credit course is an asset.
