Sessional Lecturer – Business Finance (Winter 2026)

About the role

The Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a qualified Sessional Lecturer to teach MGT231 Business Finance during the Winter 2026 term (September 1 – December 31 2026). The appointment is part‑time and focuses on delivering high‑quality instruction to undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials covering core finance concepts.
• Design, grade, and return assignments, exams, and case studies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date course materials and resources on the university’s learning platform.
• Provide regular office hours and academic support to students.
• Collaborate with department faculty to ensure alignment with curriculum standards.

Required profile

• Graduate degree (M.A., M.Sc., or Ph.D.) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the post‑secondary level.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and compliance with CUPE 3902, Unit 3 collective agreement.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of corporate finance theory and practice.
• Proficiency with the university’s Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas).
• Effective use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
