Sessional Instructor – Research Methodologies in Education

About the role

The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary is seeking a sessional instructor to teach the graduate course EDER 600 Research Methodologies in Education for the Winter 2027 term (January 4 – April 27 2027). The appointment is term‑certain and the course will be delivered entirely online.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly online lectures and facilitate discussions for graduate students.
• Design and update course materials, assignments, and assessment rubrics.
• Provide timely feedback on student work and evaluate performance.
• Maintain academic integrity and encourage critical analysis of research literature.
• Collaborate with faculty and program staff to align the course with graduate program objectives.

Required profile

• Completed doctorate (PhD or EdD) in education or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated success in teaching at the university, college, or professional level.
• Experience delivering instruction in an online or distance‑learning environment.
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative academic culture.
