Sessional Instructor – Educational Research (Winter 2027)

About the role

The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary is seeking a Sessional Instructor to teach the graduate course EDER 619.12 – Leading an Evidence‑Informed Learning Culture during the Winter 2027 term (January 4 – April 27, 2027). The instructor will deliver the course primarily online while supporting on‑campus activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver weekly online lectures, discussions, and activities for graduate students.
• Develop and update course materials, assignments, and assessment rubrics.
• Grade student work, provide constructive feedback, and maintain academic standards.
• Facilitate reflective practice on leadership, research, and ethical data use in educational settings.
• Collaborate with faculty and program staff to align the course with the graduate program’s goals.

Required profile

• Completed doctorate (PhD or EdD) in education or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated success in teaching at the university level or in professional/leadership contexts.
• Leadership experience in school, university, or workplace environments.
• Experience delivering instruction in online or distance‑education formats.
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative academic culture.
• Familiarity with the Werklund School’s graduate specializations is an asset.
