Server Assistant (Part Time) - Dinner Service

About the role

Auberge du Pommier, a Toronto restaurant known for French-inspired cuisine and attentive service, is looking for a part-time Server Assistant. Working under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, the Server Assistant supports Servers by checking tables for mise en place, cleanliness and completeness, and helps with food running and food quality monitoring. The position is dinner service, with occasional lunch services.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all tables for proper mise en place, cleanliness and completeness
• Answer questions about food, beverages, wine and other restaurant services when needed
• Help with food running so plates go to the right guest, and monitor food quality and presentation standards
• Keep the section clean and free of clutter, and communicate with Servers and Hosts to maximize seating
• Pre-portion condiments and keep fridges stocked with milk, cream, butter and similar items
• Follow food safety standards and systems, empty garbage, change linen bags and dispose of waste and recycling
• Pass on guest comments to Servers and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Smart Serve certification is required
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• High attention to detail and ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work on feet for long periods and lift 25-35 lbs
