Server Assistant - Canoe

About the role

Canoe, part of the Oliver & Bonacini family, is a fine-dining restaurant in Toronto known for dishes made from local ingredients and its views of the city. It is looking for a Server Assistant to support the Servers under the direction of the Front of House Management Team. The role requires a high level of floor awareness and strong knowledge of the food and beverage menu.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all tables for proper mise en place, cleanliness and completeness
• Answer questions about food, beverages, wine and other restaurant services when needed
• Assist with food running so that plates go to the right guest
• Communicate with Servers and Hosts to maximize seating
• Keep the floor clear and clean as required
• Follow all food safety standards and systems
• Empty garbage, change linen bags and dispose of garbage and recycling
• Pass on guest comments and information to the Servers
• Other duties as assigned

Required profile

• 1 year of previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Weekend, evening and holiday availability
• Valid Smart Serve certification (required)
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
