Senior Transportation Operations Manager

About the role

The Senior Transportation Operations Manager leads CPX’s transportation network, overseeing full‑truck‑load (FTL), less‑than‑truck‑load (LTL) and cross‑dock activities. The role blends strategic planning with hands‑on execution to ensure service reliability, cost control, and operational excellence across dispatch, planning, driver management and customer delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end performance of FTL, LTL and cross‑dock operations, driving continuous improvement in service, efficiency and cost.
• Lead, mentor and hold accountable dispatch, planning and operations teams, establishing structure, processes and discipline.
• Act as senior escalation point for key customers, managing service failures and leading performance reviews.
• Participate in RFP responses, pricing strategies and costing exercises, providing operational input to margin management.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Safety and IT to align execution with customer commitments.
• Oversee driver communication, retention initiatives and capacity planning.
• Monitor KPIs such as service levels, cost per mile, utilization and on‑time performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in transportation or logistics, with senior operational leadership.
• Proven track record managing high‑volume FTL/LTL operations.
• Strong commercial acumen, experience with pricing, RFPs and cost modeling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts and drive accountability.
• Excellent customer‑facing skills and experience handling escalations.
