Senior ROV Technician

About the role

Oceaneering Canada is seeking a Senior ROV Technician to support year‑round offshore operations in Newfoundland and Labrador. The role involves working on vessel‑based Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) missions and MODU‑based well‑intervention campaigns, providing hands‑on technical experience with industry‑leading ROV systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, test, troubleshoot and repair ROV systems and associated support equipment.
• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities during offshore operations, ensuring equipment readiness.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical and software faults.
• Execute ROV launch, recovery, deployment and subsea intervention tasks.
• Mentor junior ROV Technicians and provide on‑the‑job training.
• Assist the ROV Supervisor in planning and executing offshore missions.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, permit‑to‑work processes and safety initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance documentation and shift handovers.

Required profile

• High‑school diploma (required); Engineering Technologist or Technician diploma (preferred).
• Proven experience as an ROV Senior Technician (domestic or international).
• Ability to obtain a valid passport and meet offshore work‑requirement documentation.
• Valid CAPP‑compliant offshore training, including Basic Survival Training.
• Certifications: WHMIS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection and Regulatory Awareness.
