Senior QA Automation Engineer (Remote, Canada)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for high‑quality software delivery. This remote position works closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts and frameworks.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing.
• Collaborate with developers and business teams to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA.
• Execute automated test suites and analyze results.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Ensure test coverage for web, API, and backend applications.
• Support UAT and production validation when required.
• Follow best practices for test automation and QA standards.

Required profile

• Strong experience in QA automation testing.
• Hands‑on experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, or JUnit.
• Programming experience in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or SOAP UI.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and defect tracking (JIRA).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of STLC and SDLC.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
