Senior Project Manager - Strategic Operations

About the role

The National Research Council is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Strategic Operations to lead the Drone and Flight Autonomy Laboratory (DFAL) within the Aerospace Research Centre. This position combines advanced project‑management expertise with operational leadership to drive the successful delivery of multi‑site, high‑impact initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated planning, performance monitoring, and capability development for DFAL across NRC sites.
• Coordinate resources and align priorities with the AERO team and corporate service branches including Finance, Human Resources, Real Property Management, Procurement, Security, and IT.
• Manage risks, ensure compliance with organizational standards, and support the R&D Director in strategic decision‑making.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and maintain effective communication across cross‑functional teams.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes to sustain growth and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration or Finance.
• Formal designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale, cross‑functional projects in a research or technology environment.
• Strong organizational and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
