Senior Project Manager

About the role

Join Binnie’s Transportation Major Projects Division as a Senior Project Manager, delivering Owner’s Engineer and Project Delivery services for major infrastructure projects across British Columbia. The role is based in our Burnaby office near Deer Lake and offers the chance to lead complex transportation engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, consultants, contractors and support staff.
• Manage major transportation engineering projects on behalf of the Owner’s Engineer or Design Team.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to junior and intermediate staff.
• Evaluate RFP opportunities and lead proposal efforts for large multidisciplinary projects.
• Direct staff and sub‑consultants, ensuring quality and alignment with project goals.
• Engage in active business development and develop win strategies for pursuits.
• Develop project schedules, coordinate resources and monitor progress.
• Track budgets, anticipate client needs and proactively support project delivery.
• Oversee implementation of the quantity management system and application of design standards.
• Guide project managers on strengthening client relationships and forging new strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• 10+ years of technical experience in transportation engineering or civil project management.
• Registration as a P.Eng. preferred.
• Proven experience leading design or technical teams on complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience with design, procurement, construction and close‑out phases of Design‑Build, Progressive Design‑Build or Alliance delivery.
• Extensive client‑management experience in a professional consulting environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, coaching and training.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and personal vehicle.
• Exceptional project, design and time‑management capabilities.
• Proven business‑development experience, including proposal writing and relationship building.
