Senior Project Manager – HR PMO

About the role

As a Senior Project Manager in the HR PMO you will lead the Program/Project Management Office for HR Operational Excellence, supporting HR Talent Services at RBC. You will be responsible for delivering HR operations projects, providing recommendations on scope, timing and issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project processes and procedures across multiple concurrent HR projects.
• Monitor productivity and performance of project teams, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and track progress, summarising status for senior leadership.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to upper management.
• Manage financial aspects including budgeting, forecasting and vendor invoicing.
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues, maintaining transparent reporting.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree; PMI certification preferred.
• 5‑7 years of experience leading large, complex, cross‑functional programs, preferably in HR.
• Proven agile delivery experience and ability to set up scaled agile squads.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with senior leaders.
• Experience in financial program management and risk/issue management frameworks.
• Nice‑to‑have experience in large financial services, additional certifications (PMP, PGMP, CSM, ACSM, SAFE) and familiarity with RBC governance.
