Senior Project Manager – GO Expansion Program

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of the GO Expansion program, overseeing civil and track works across the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The role coordinates due‑diligence investigations, design and construction activities, and provides senior leadership to a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate due‑diligence and investigation activities supporting design, construction and overall project delivery.
• Act as primary interface between investigation teams, designers, construction teams and the client.
• Provide senior leadership across a large, multi‑disciplinary organization, including organizational structure, capability building and succession planning.
• Manage diverse teams of junior engineers and senior field staff, bringing structure and accountability to complex investigation scopes in a live railway environment.
• Identify, assess and mitigate investigation‑related risks, aligning with the broader project risk framework.
• Communicate clearly with internal teams, consultants, contractors and client representatives, delivering timely updates to senior leadership and operational teams.
• Understand construction constraints and ensure investigation outcomes support cost, schedule and risk objectives.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high‑performance team culture and support employee development.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of experience in major infrastructure projects, with hands‑on railway project experience.
• Proven experience leading and coordinating due‑diligence investigations (geotechnical, utilities, structural, corridor).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary, multi‑disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Strong judgment in risk‑based decision making and stakeholder communication.
• Experience in building team capability, performance management and career development of junior staff.
