Senior Project Manager – Commercial & Institutional Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of high‑value airport, healthcare, affordable housing and wastewater treatment projects in Edmonton. You will oversee projects exceeding $100 million, balancing hands‑on delivery with strategic team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial and institutional construction projects from planning through close‑out.
• Develop and maintain detailed schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, including contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements and quality expectations.
• Oversee contract administration, proposals and negotiations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks.
• Communicate progress and status to clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Prepare regular project status reports and provide mentorship to junior team members.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of construction project management experience on commercial and institutional projects.
• Proven track record managing projects with budgets of $100 million or more.
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience coaching and mentoring project teams is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Schedule (Microsoft Project).
• Experience using Procore construction management software.
