Senior Project Manager – Azure Migration

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a complex Azure migration program for a client in downtown Toronto. This five‑month contract focuses on planning, coordination, and governance of workload moves from existing Azure environments to a new greenfield platform. The role is not hands‑on engineering; Azure specialists will handle architecture and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day delivery planning for migration waves, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Coordinate workload discovery with application owners, business stakeholders, Azure SMEs, platform and support teams.
• Monitor migration readiness, including tagging, cost allocation, approvals, and governance requirements.
• Support cut‑over planning, go/no‑go meetings, stakeholder communications, and post‑migration follow‑up.
• Prepare concise project reports for sponsors and senior stakeholders covering progress, blockers, risks, decisions, and acceptance status.
• Facilitate operational transition ensuring support ownership, documentation, monitoring, backup, and escalation paths are in place.

Required profile

• 7+ years delivering technology projects or programs, preferably with cloud or infrastructure migrations.
• Strong project‑management, business‑analysis, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Proven ability to coordinate technical teams, vendors, and distributed delivery groups.
• Excellent organization, detail‑orientation, and capacity to create order from ambiguity.
• Effective communicator comfortable with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
