Senior Product Manager, Cluster Linking

About the role

Cluster Linking is how Kafka clusters are replicated and sits at the core of Confluent’s streaming platform. It enables zero‑data‑loss disaster recovery for global banks, petabyte‑scale migrations for enterprises, and cross‑continent event‑stream replication for multinational organizations.

Key responsibilities

• Launch and drive adoption of a one‑click disaster‑recovery experience, turning manual setups into a seamless, productized capability.
• Define the future of real‑time stream sharing across organizations, including security models, networking, access controls, and scalability.
• Design self‑service migration paths to Confluent Cloud, enabling customers to move with a few clicks or API calls.
• Segment and re‑package Cluster Linking for disaster recovery, migrations, data sharing, and cross‑cloud replication, establishing pricing and positioning for each use case.
• Partner closely with engineering leadership to make fast trade‑off decisions and keep the product moving forward.
• Engage directly with customers to guide architecture choices, gather feedback, and align product direction with market needs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in infrastructure, data platforms, or cloud products.
• Strong interest and comfort with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, especially Kafka.
• Results‑driven mindset with a proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams without formal authority.
• Ownership mentality, turning ambiguous problems into clear, actionable plans.
• Business acumen to think beyond the backlog—segmentation, packaging, pricing, and market impact.
• Clear communicator who can translate technical topics for executives and write sharp product documentation.
