Senior Mobile Engineer – React Native

About the role

The Senior Mobile Engineer will shape CIBC's Simplii Technology mobile platform by leading the design and delivery of high‑quality React Native applications for iOS and Android. You will work closely with product, design, accessibility and other stakeholder groups to ensure solutions are technically sound and customer‑centric.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end development of scalable, secure and performant React Native apps.
• Define and enforce modern mobile architecture patterns, reusable components, testing practices and coding standards.
• Integrate native iOS and Android capabilities where React Native alone is insufficient.
• Mentor and coach engineers, participate in hiring, conduct code reviews and promote best practices.
• Foster a community of React Native developers through knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend, architecture and delivery teams to translate business needs into mobile solutions.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with React Native development.
• Strong foundation in native iOS and/or Android development.
• Leadership mindset with a track record of mentoring engineers.
• Ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships.
