Senior Math and Science Tutor - IN-HOME and IN-PERSON

About the role

Join Prep Academy Tutors as a Senior Math and Science Tutor providing in‑home, in‑person instruction to high‑school students in the Oakville and Burlington areas. You will deliver personalized support aligned with the Ontario secondary English curriculum and help students succeed academically.

Key responsibilities

• Empower students with personalized academic support aligned with the Ontario secondary English curriculum.
• Help students strengthen reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills.
• Prepare students for classroom assessments, culminating assignments, exams, and OSSLT preparation where appropriate.
• Develop customized lesson plans that promote deep understanding, confidence, and academic growth.
• Provide remedial support for struggling students and enrichment opportunities for advanced learners.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and areas for improvement.

Required profile

• Hold a current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or be a certified teacher in Canada or the United States (or in the process of becoming one).
• Be enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program or have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian or U.S. college or university.
• Experience teaching or tutoring high school English (Grades 9–12) and strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to students' homes in Oakville and Burlington.
