Senior Manager of Academic and Special Programs

About the role

The Senior Manager of Academic and Special Programs leads the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of accredited undergraduate and graduate programmes within the School of Biomedical Engineering. This role ensures compliance with national accreditation standards and provides strategic direction for admissions, scholarships, student records, and related academic services.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the administration of MASc, MEng, PhD, Engineers in Scrubs (EiS), and BASc programmes.
• Develop and implement admissions and recruitment strategies aligned with university goals.
• Coordinate student support services including scholarships, awards, course scheduling, and graduation requirements.
• Advise on academic policies for both undergraduate and graduate programmes, navigating the partnership between the Faculties of Medicine and Applied Science.
• Lead special projects such as the Indigenous Engagement Program and the Vancouver Summer Program.
• Collaborate with the Partnerships Manager on summer undergraduate research opportunities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in academic program administration within a university setting.
