Senior Controller – Finance Leadership

About the role

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Controller will provide financial leadership within a complex, multi‑entity operating environment. The role oversees consolidated financial reporting across multiple legal entities and serves as the financial lead for a major operating division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for multiple entities.
• Prepare, consolidate and review internal and external financial statements in accordance with ASPE.
• Oversee intercompany accounting, eliminations and consolidation activities.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Lead the annual external audit, coordinating with auditors and tax advisors.
• Mentor and develop a team of 2–3 accounting professionals.
• Act as finance lead for SAGE 300, supporting system optimization and data integrity.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and ERP enhancements.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight for acquisitions and restructuring.

Required profile

• CPA designation in good standing.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including mergers and acquisitions support.
• Extensive experience in corporate accounting, consolidations and multi‑entity environments.
• Proven success managing external audits and regulatory reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• SAGE 300 (or comparable mid‑market ERP system).
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Financial reporting systems.
