Senior Assurance Accountant

About the role

Join Baker Tilly as a Senior Assurance Accountant and lead audit, review and assurance engagements while supporting tax planning and compliance for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit, review and assurance engagements.
• Research and interpret the CPA Canada Handbook, applying relevant accounting and assurance standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements and working papers.
• Prepare and review corporate (T2), personal (T1), trust (T3) tax returns and related T4/T5 summaries and slips.
• Prepare and review compilation engagement reports.
• Assist partners with tax planning and compliance matters.
• Mentor and train junior staff members.
• Perform other accounting, tax, and administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Canadian CPA designation.
• Cash‑flow analysis experience.
• Minimum 3 years of public‑practice accounting and tax experience.
• Minimum 3 years of audit file review experience.
• Strong organization and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to thrive in high‑pressure environments.
• Can‑do attitude with willingness to take on new tasks.
• Team‑oriented work style.
• Desire to grow a career within a mid‑size public accounting firm.
