Senior Accountant (Remote)

About the role

Zenbooks is looking for a highly organized Senior Accountant to join its fully remote team. You will work with a portfolio of small‑ and mid‑sized clients, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting, and exceptional client service while preparing for a future Accounting Manager position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting information systems and software for client organisations.
• Mentor and coach Staff Accountants on technical accounting issues.
• Maintain and grow client relationships, handling inquiries via email and video calls.
• Own the gross margin of your pod, monitoring engagement profitability and team utilisation.
• Perform day‑to‑day accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, data entry, and documentation review.
• Proactively request missing client information and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, and organise accounting records for each client.
• Lead complex bookkeeping and vController engagements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero or similar).
• Strong bookkeeping and financial reporting capabilities.
• Experience managing accounts receivable and accounts payable.
