Senior Accountant – Product Accounting

About the role

Wealthsimple is seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to own the financial operations of its product suite, including SimpleTax, Wealthsimple Mortgages, and Wealthsimple Cash. You will ensure data integrity, support month‑end close, and help build accounting infrastructure for new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting for SimpleTax, Wealthsimple Mortgages, and Wealthsimple Cash products.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, product performance, and variance analysis.
• Develop and implement new accounting processes for product launches.
• Prepare monthly accruals and perform account reconciliations.
• Support the month‑end close process and maintain accurate financial statements.
• Assist in creating and documenting accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Operations and Data teams to ensure seamless communication and reporting.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience with a CPA designation (or in progress).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and product accounting principles, including revenue recognition.
• Excellent communicator who can simplify complex concepts.
• Naturally curious, detail‑focused, and adaptable to fast‑changing environments.

Required skills

• CPA designation (or working towards it).
• Experience with IFRS.
• Familiarity with Netsuite (asset).
