Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Vaughan, Ontario. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will own the month‑end close, account reconciliations and financial reporting while partnering with multiple business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned general‑ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly and year‑end closes.
• Perform balance‑sheet and income‑statement reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Analyze financial data, create supporting documentation and maintain detailed working papers.
• Develop, document and execute internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insight for operational initiatives.
• Respond to internal stakeholder inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Support audit requests and other compliance activities.
• Contribute to process‑improvement projects and special finance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification is a strong asset.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Experience with cloud‑based ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex data manipulation).
• Financial data analysis.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
