Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead month‑end close, maintain the general ledger, and drive the upcoming ERP/CRM implementation for a fast‑growing e‑commerce retailer. This hands‑on position works closely with the Controller, Financial Analyst and Bookkeeper to build a robust financial infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end month‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid amortization and adjusting entries.
• Prepare and review bank and GL reconciliations, ensuring chart of accounts integrity.
• Lead accounting workstreams for the ERP migration (chart of accounts setup, opening balance validation, parallel run reconciliation, and testing GL posting logic).
• Document accounting processes and controls within the new ERP environment.
• Oversee accounts payable aging, vendor payments and AP cleanup during transition.
• Review payroll entries for accuracy and proper GL coding.
• Ensure ASPE compliance for inventory valuation, revenue recognition and expense treatment.
• Partner with the financial analyst on inventory valuation methodology, landed cost treatment and COGS adjustments.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, identify control improvements and design scalable processes.

Required profile

• CPA designation (or near completion) with 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 2 years in a senior or lead accounting role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of ASPE; IFRS is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience managing month‑end close independently.
• Experience with ERP systems and participation in an implementation or migration.
