Senior Accountant – Assurance (Calgary)

About the role

Davidson & Company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Assurance practice in Calgary. The role involves leading audit and review engagements for private enterprises, not‑for‑profit organizations and other owner‑managed businesses while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute audit and review engagements, from planning through completion.
• Assess risk, design audit procedures and prepare complex working papers in accordance with ASPE, ASNPO and other standards.
• Analyze financial information, identify unusual transactions and investigate accounting issues.
• Review and mentor junior staff, providing coaching and feedback.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to managers, partners and clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• CPA designation or successful completion of the CFE.
• 3‑5 years of public‑practice assurance experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, CAS and Canadian assurance standards.
