Security Technician I

About the role

As a Technician I – Security with Bosch Building Technologies you will support the installation, maintenance and repair of integrated security solutions for commercial and industrial customers. Working alongside experienced technicians you will gain hands‑on experience with low‑voltage access‑control systems, CCTV networks and pre‑wiring projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in system design and layout.
• Install, terminate and test copper and fiber‑optic cables, connectors and related components.
• Assist in installing and servicing electronic security systems, including pre‑wiring, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of access‑control, CCTV and intrusion‑alarm systems.
• Provide customer training and respond to technical inquiries.
• Build relationships with clients and prospects for future opportunities.
• Perform administrative duties such as project updates to Project Managers and filing all project documentation.
• Work night shifts when required by project or service needs.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry.
• Proficiency in cable pulling, installation and basic troubleshooting.
• Experience with security systems, CCTV and alarms.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with customers and team members.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Ability to work independently.
• Post‑secondary training in electronics or equivalent is an asset (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of low‑voltage systems, CCTV and pre‑wiring is desirable.
