Seasonal Cook - Offsite Catering

About the role

Oliver & Bonacini, a Canadian hospitality company, is hiring a seasonal cook for offsite catering in Toronto. This is a full-time seasonal position running until the New Year, working 100% of the time on your feet.

Key responsibilities

• Perform delegated tasks from the Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager
• Prepare food daily according to O&B standards, following recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications
• Maintain a prep list of station duties and follow the FIFO method to keep food fresh
• Assist with food inventory and control, and help receive and store deliveries
• Clean prep areas, equipment and utensils, and follow sanitation, food safety and hygiene guidelines
• Follow WHMIS and MSDS guidelines and other duties as assigned

Required profile

• 1-2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant or event/catering environment
• Able to take direction and work calmly under pressure
• Able to spend 100% of the time standing
• Available weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
• Legally eligible to work in Canada

Required skills

• Basic understanding of professional cooking
• Knife handling skills
• Culinary diploma or degree is an asset
