Rock Tools Technician

About the role

The Rock Tools Technician supports Sandvik Mining’s rock‑tools contracts by ensuring customers receive the right tools, that inventory is accurately managed, and that equipment is maintained to specification. This entry‑level, fly‑in‑fly‑out position is based in Nunavut and offers a pathway into the mining industry.

Key responsibilities

• Manage rock‑tools inventory, tracking issues, discards and losses.
• Repair and maintain rock‑tools according to defined specifications.
• Deliver rock‑tools products to customers on schedule.
• Use the Rock Tools Management System to monitor performance and generate reports.
• Troubleshoot tool usage, provide technical recommendations and report improper usage.
• Complete time, technical and failure reports accurately.
• Perform daily/weekly stock counts and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary school (high school).
• Customer‑focused attitude with willingness to develop new skills.
• Ability to work as part of an integrated team.
• Detail‑oriented with good written and verbal communication.
• Flexibility and self‑motivation for a 14‑day on / 14‑day off schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Rock Tools Management System.
• Basic inventory management and stock‑counting abilities.
• Hands‑on tool repair and maintenance skills.
