About the role
The Max Bell School of Public Policy seeks an experienced academic to teach the intensive one‑week seminar "Rhetoric and Communications of Public Policy" (PPOL 641) during the Fall term of 2026. This two‑credit course explores policy transparency challenges and the role of persuasive communication in policymaking.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver six hours of instruction per day (Monday‑Friday) for the week of October 19‑23, 2026.
- Design and update course materials, case studies, and assessment tools.
- Facilitate classroom discussions, workshops, and guest‑speaker sessions.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff on scheduling and logistics.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s, M.A., or Ph.D. in a relevant field (public policy, political science, economics, etc.).
- Minimum five years of applied or industry‑related experience complemented by academic research.
- Extensive knowledge of policy transparency and its challenges.
- Proven experience designing, analyzing, and implementing policies in government or industry settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on persuasive messaging.
