Retail Designer (Architectural Focus)

About the role
NORR is seeking a Retail Designer to join its innovative design team. You will work on national and international retail projects, creating vibrant environments that maximise sales per square foot while integrating digital and physical experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Compile and analyse project briefs, reports and published documents to define design requirements.
- Develop architectural designs that meet quality, timeline and budget constraints.
- Coordinate design intent with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering and MEP consultants.
- Integrate engineering requirements, site surveys and field reviews while complying with codes and jurisdictional standards.
- Prepare design reports, drawings and 3D models following office standards.
- Conduct site visits to verify construction compliance and resolve deviations with owners and contractors.
- Review shop drawings and project deliverables to ensure adherence to project documents and corporate quality controls.
Required profile
- 5‑10 years of experience in architectural project work, preferably in retail or transportation projects.
- Post‑secondary education in architecture; registration with a professional architectural association is an asset.
- Strong understanding of MEP and structural building systems and relevant building codes.
