Industrial Designer – Development Engineering

About the role

The Industrial Designer in Development Engineering supports WhiteWater’s product development process, focusing on aesthetic quality, usability and manufacturability of new and evolving water attraction products.

Key responsibilities

• Support Development Leads throughout the Product Development Stage Gate Process by contributing to product form, design refinement, CAD development, and documentation activities.
• Develop and refine aesthetic design solutions for new products and updates, emphasizing organic, visually compelling, cohesive forms.
• Guide early‑stage concepts toward practical, manufacturable solutions by balancing aesthetics, reusable part strategies and engineering constraints.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to improve product surfaces, transitions, touch points and user‑facing details.
• Identify opportunities to reuse shapes, reduce part count and create larger consistent surfaces through repeatable geometry.
• Ensure concepts and layouts comply with standard structural engineering principles and can be refined by structural engineering teams.
• Produce CAD models, detailed drawings and design documentation to support project execution.

Required profile

• Strong sense of industrial design with focus on aesthetics, usability and manufacturability.
• Ability to translate early concepts into practical, buildable designs while respecting engineering constraints.
• Understanding of structural engineering principles as they relate to product architecture.
• Experience working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams of designers and engineers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD modeling and development.
• Ability to create detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience with reusable geometry and part simplification strategies.
