Restaurant Host – Part-Time at Currents (Ucluelet)

About the role

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and upbeat Host to be the first point of contact for guests at Currents Restaurant, the signature dining venue of Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, BC. The role goes beyond greeting; you will set the tone for a memorable dining experience and help keep the floor running smoothly in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests promptly, creating a warm first impression.
• Answer phone calls, respond to guest inquiries, and manage reservations using the reservation system.
• Inform guests of daily specials and coordinate with the service team to ensure accurate communication.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables between seatings to maintain a tidy dining room.
• Uphold cleanliness and organizational standards throughout the shift, including between seatings.
• Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols as required.
• Support teammates by stepping in wherever needed to keep service flowing smoothly.

Required profile

• Warm, professional approach to welcoming guests.
• Strong communication skills, able to juggle in‑person greetings, phone calls, and reservation systems.
• Ability to stay calm and friendly under pressure in a busy environment.
• Collaborative mindset, working well with both service staff and kitchen.
• Attention to detail for cleanliness and appearance of the dining area.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
