Resort Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and friendly Resort Maintenance Technician to join our small maintenance team at Black Rock Resort in Ucluelet. The role involves performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks across guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house facilities while interacting with guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and update the work order system.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical systems and equipment.
• Maintain guest rooms and public areas, including cleaning, lubricating, and protecting tools and equipment.
• Monitor fire alarm systems and handle related emergencies.
• Communicate maintenance needs and status to multiple hotel departments.

Required profile

• Good communication skills and a friendly attitude toward guests and colleagues.
• Physically able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lb and work in a dynamic environment.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Basic knowledge of building materials and construction techniques.
• Basic computer skills for work‑order entry.
• Understanding of plumbing, heating, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of pool chemistry is an asset.
