Research Nurse Coordinator

About the role

The Research Nurse Coordinator will support and coordinate clinical trials within the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) Clinical Trials Program at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, UBC Hospital. This role blends advanced nursing practice with clinical research coordination to ensure safe, ethical and efficient conduct of investigator‑initiated, academic and industry‑sponsored studies. The incumbent works independently under the direction of the MS & NMO Clinical Trials Director and Research Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new study protocols for feasibility, safety and operational requirements and implement them on site.
• Coordinate participant recruitment, screening, informed consent and enrollment, serving as the primary contact for study subjects.
• Conduct clinical assessments, vital signs, ECGs, questionnaires and protocol‑specific procedures, and manage collection, processing and shipment of biological samples.
• Administer investigational products, monitor infusions, maintain drug accountability and ensure participant safety during adverse events.
• Prepare regulatory documentation, support REB submissions, and liaise with sponsors, CROs and study teams throughout study initiation, maintenance and close‑out.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with BCCNP and at least one year of nursing experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ICH‑GCP, Health Canada Division 5, FDA and TCPS2 regulations.
• Proficiency with clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and electronic data capture.
• Ability to perform clinical assessments, ECGs, and process biological samples.
