Research Associate – Health Professions Education

About the role

The Institute of Health Sciences Education seeks a Research Associate to support a focus‑group project in health professions education, medical education, and clinical assessment. The role involves regular collaboration with the research team, rigorous data handling, and contribution to knowledge‑dissemination outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and actively contribute to weekly research team meetings.
• Design, organize, and facilitate focus‑group sessions with diverse participants.
• Coordinate all aspects of data collection, including scheduling, consent, and documentation.
• Conduct qualitative data analysis using appropriate coding frameworks.
• Ensure adherence to rigorous research standards and validity frameworks throughout the project.
• Assist in drafting the final grant report and preparing knowledge‑dissemination products such as publications and presentations.

Required profile

• Proven experience facilitating focus groups and conducting qualitative analysis.
• Familiarity with assessment, measurement, and validity frameworks in health education.
• Experience working on funded research projects within interdisciplinary teams.
• Minimum PhD‑level training in a relevant discipline.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work varied hours; bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
