About the role

The Brubacher Laboratory in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UBC seeks a full‑time Research Associate to advance a research program on recovery after traumatic injury, focusing on post‑traumatic stress symptoms, post‑traumatic growth, and functional outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead statistical design and analysis of longitudinal and observational studies involving large injury cohorts.
  • Analyze cohort data to identify patterns of psychological and functional recovery and predictors of adverse or resilient trajectories.
  • Integrate clinical, epidemiologic, and quantitative methods to inform patient outcomes and policy.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to apply advanced statistical and computational techniques.

Required profile

  • Advanced statistical expertise with substantive knowledge of trauma recovery and mental health.
  • Experience in PTSD or injury outcomes research.
  • Motivation to apply rigorous quantitative methods to clinically relevant questions.
