Research Assistant – Behavioral Lab (Psychology)

About the role

The Department of Psychology at McGill University is seeking a Research Assistant to support ongoing experimental studies. You will work closely with the principal investigator and a team of graduate and undergraduate researchers to ensure smooth execution of lab protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Create study protocols and prepare experimental materials.
• Conduct behavioral coding for family participants.
• Perform data quality checks and remove invalid responses.
• Prepare figures and pilot data for grant applications under PI guidance.
• Track, compile, and organize processed data for analysis.
• Contact, schedule, and manage participant visits, maintain spreadsheets, and handle payments.
• Answer participant and parent inquiries about the studies.
• Supervise undergraduate research assistants and set agendas for lab meetings.
• Administer behavioral tasks using Inquisit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
• Strong understanding of experimental psychology methods.
• Ability to work collaboratively and prioritize tasks effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Inquisit software for behavioral task administration.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $30.54 CAD.
• Full‑time schedule (35 hours per week).
• Fixed‑term appointment from August 2026 to August 2027.
