Research Assistant 1 – Neuroimmunology Clinical Research

About the role

We are seeking a Research Assistant 1 to provide operational support to the Neuroimmunology clinical research program at McGill University. Working under the supervision of investigators and senior research staff, you will contribute to the recruitment, consent and follow‑up of participants with neuroimmunological diseases.

Key responsibilities

• Attend outpatient clinics (e.g., MS clinic, lumbar puncture clinic) to approach, inform and obtain consent from eligible participants.
• Coordinate collection, labeling and transport of biological samples such as blood, CSF and DNA.
• Review scheduled patients to identify enrolled participants, prioritize biospecimen collection and support imaging or clinical trial referrals.
• Contact participants and relatives outside the clinic to explain studies, confirm eligibility, obtain consent and manage questionnaire completion using REDCap.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Research Unit and investigators to refer eligible patients for clinical trials and MRI‑based research.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records of recruitment activity and sample logistics.

Required profile

• Ability to work under supervision of investigators and senior research staff.
• Experience interacting with patients and clinical staff in a research setting.
• Familiarity with neuroimmunological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, NMOSD, MOG‑associated disease and myasthenia gravis.
