Research and Engagement Coordinator – Asian Canadian Studies

About the role

The Centre for Asian Canadian Research and Engagement (ACRE) at UBC seeks a Research and Engagement Coordinator to strengthen community‑university partnerships, support interdisciplinary research, and deliver public‑facing events that address anti‑Asian racism.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand relationships with Asian Canadian community and cultural organisations.
• Identify and initiate new collaboration opportunities for research and engagement.
• Manage work‑plans and supervise undergraduate and graduate research assistants involved in community‑based projects.
• Develop, organise and implement public‑facing, community‑based events in partnership with ACRE Co‑Directors.
• Serve as the primary liaison for the ACRE Community Advisory Group.

Required profile

• Experience in community relations and engagement within diverse cultural contexts.
• Proven ability to coordinate research projects and supervise student assistants.
• Strong organisational skills for planning events and managing multiple work‑streams.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with community partners and internal stakeholders.

• Competitive salary range of $5,526.42 – $7,941.25 CAD per month.
• Part‑time position at 80% full‑time equivalent (FTE) with prorated benefits.
