Registered Practical Nurse – Ambulatory Care (Casual)

About the role

The Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking three casual Registered Practical Nurses to join its Ambulatory Care team. The role supports clinic operations, assists physicians with minor procedures, and ensures smooth patient flow throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare clinic rooms and equipment for minor procedures.
• Organise patient flow, manage supplies and materials.
• Assist physicians during procedures and perform post‑procedure documentation.
• Conduct phlebotomy for laboratory samples.
• Maintain accurate medication and order entry using Meditech.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Current BCLS certification.
• IV Therapy course (or within scope).
• Willingness to obtain Cardiac Monitoring/Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia certification within three months.
• Demonstrated physical assessment and wound‑care abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Successful reference, police vulnerable sector, and pre‑employment health checks.

Required skills

• Cardiac monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation.
• Physical assessment and wound‑care proficiency.
