Registered Nurse – Children with Disabilities (Temporary)

About the role
This temporary position is for a Registered Nurse who will provide compassionate, high‑quality care to children and youth with complex medical needs living at Rosecrest Home in Edmonton. The role supports both permanent residents and respite‑care guests, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the health status of permanent and respite children daily.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, including early intervention for emerging health concerns.
- Administer medications, perform wound care, and manage medical equipment as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, families, and external health providers.
- Document all observations, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the resident’s records.
Required profile
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) registration in Alberta.
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric care, especially for children with disabilities.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to high‑quality, person‑centred care.
Required skills
- Clinical assessment and monitoring of pediatric patients.
- Medication administration and IV therapy.
- Wound care and management of complex medical equipment.
