Red Seal Powerline Technician (Journeyperson, Subforeperson, Foreperson) – Ontario

About the role

Hydro One Networks Inc., in partnership with the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers, is hiring Red Seal‑qualified Powerline Technicians for projects across the Eastern and Central zones of Ontario. The positions are full‑time, four‑day weeks (40 hours) on a 4 × 10 shift schedule, with overtime as required.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and refurbish transmission lines of the Bulk Electrical System.
• Plan, schedule, and execute day‑to‑day activities for TX Program Work and TX Capital Projects.
• String transmission lines, assemble/erect transmission towers, and replace insulators.
• Perform wood‑pole replacement, shield‑wire replacement, and OPGW installation.
• Handle conductor dead‑ending, looping and related tasks.

Required profile

• Valid G licence and Red Seal certification as a Powerline Technician Journeyperson.
• Physical ability to climb towers and poles, lift up to 25 kg, and work in extreme weather.
• Capability to perform rescue techniques, including bucket evacuation.
• Valid DZ or AZ driver’s licence.
• Previous supervisory or transmission experience is an asset.
