Receptionist – Front Desk Support (Temporary)

About the role
We are looking for a reliable and personable Receptionist to be the first point of contact for Jamaican newcomers and visitors at a busy, community‑focused governmental support organization in North York. This temporary position starts immediately and runs for approximately three months, with the possibility of extension.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide courteous assistance as the front‑desk representative.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls and emails to the appropriate teams.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, courier services, and document distribution.
- Maintain organized records while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Support basic administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and report preparation.
- Monitor office supplies and coordinate with vendors for maintenance or service needs.
- Provide general administrative support to internal departments as required.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a front‑desk, receptionist, or administrative support role.
- Strong communication skills with a customer‑service mindset.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and discretion when handling confidential information.
