Quality Coordinator (Civil/Structure)

About the role

ACCIONA, a global infrastructure developer active in Canada since 2001, is hiring a Quality Coordinator (Civil/Structure) in Ontario. The role applies the Construction Quality Management Plan so that the quality system is established, implemented and maintained in line with project specifications, regulations and industry standards, while driving quality practices, inspections and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and off-site quality inspections and witness testing to verify compliance with specifications and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Monitor construction progress and workmanship to identify and resolve quality issues quickly
• Oversee testing of materials and structures, such as concrete strength and soil compaction tests
• Inspect delivered materials and equipment against approved submittals and quality standards
• Ensure construction follows the ITPs, including hold and witness points
• Maintain inspection records (dates, findings, test results, corrective actions) and report deviations and non-conformances to the Quality Lead
• Verify that corrective actions are implemented and closed, and check certifications of workers, subcontractors and equipment
• Support field teams with immediate feedback and collaborate with construction teams on quality assurance best practices

Required profile

• Certificates of training and experience on transit construction projects
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials and industry best practices
• Ability to identify, document and manage non-conformances and corrective actions
• Clear written and verbal communication and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and stakeholders

Required skills

• Reviewing and interpreting project specifications, drawings and ITPs
• Experience with quality inspection tools, testing methods and documentation
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements, codes and construction standards
