Quality Assurance Supervisor

About the role

The Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees daily food safety and quality activities at Hilton Foods Canada’s production facility. Leading a team of QA Technicians, the role works closely with Production, Sanitation, and Maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise QA Technicians across shifts, providing coaching, training, and performance management.
• Conduct on‑floor verification of CCP checks, process controls, sanitation, and GMP compliance.
• Maintain the facility’s HACCP and Preventive Control Plan, ensuring adherence to CFIA regulations.
• Monitor food safety programs such as allergen control, foreign material prevention, environmental monitoring, and traceability.
• Manage product hold/release, investigate non‑conformances, and lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee product testing, coordinate external laboratory work, and support regulatory, internal, and third‑party audits (BRCGS, SQF).
• Prepare quality performance reports, analyse trends, and communicate risks to plant leadership.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience supervising QA staff in a food production environment.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian food safety regulations (CFIA) and HACCP/Preventive Control systems.
• Experience with GFSI‑certified standards such as BRCGS or SQF.
• Ability to conduct root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
