Propulsion and Design Engineer

About the role

FTAI Aviation’s Innovation Group is seeking a Propulsion and Design Engineer to support its aeroderivative engine development program. The role combines hands‑on engineering analysis, repair development, and shop‑floor engagement to improve engine performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during engine disassembly and rebuild activities on the aeroderivative engine line, leading and approving work‑scope preparation.
• Evaluate unserviceable engine hardware and perform engineering assessments to define repair, reuse, or disposition pathways.
• Support new engine development initiatives through validation activities, design reviews, and module‑to‑module integration.
• Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation such as repair instructions, engineering dispositions, and work‑scope recommendations.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations, perform technical analyses, and recommend solutions for component or module‑level issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in propulsion engineering or the aerospace sector.
• Proven experience working with aircraft engines and strong component‑level analysis skills.
