Property Claims Field Adjuster (Home-Based, Calgary Area)

About the role

Aviva Canada is hiring Field Adjusters for its Property Field Claims team. The role is home-based and open to candidates in the Greater Calgary area. Adjusters inspect residential property claims, determine the scope of damage, write repair estimates and settle claims.

Key responsibilities

• Complete on-site and/or virtual inspections of residential property claims
• Capture the scope of damages and write repair estimates to settle claims
• Reconcile and validate vendor estimates to ensure price and scope are appropriate
• Meet with insureds, third parties, witnesses and lawyers to obtain facts and information
• Review facts, policy, technical reports, fire marshal reports and case law, then decide on coverage, claim value and negotiate settlement
• Provide excellent customer service and keep related parties informed of claim status
• Ensure data accuracy, issue payments to insureds, vendors and other insurers, and assist during CATs in Canada
• Correspond with third parties, lawyers, insureds, brokers and others interested in the claim

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as a field adjuster handling Personal Lines claims
• Strong understanding of property insurance
• Preferred: ability to scope damages and prepare repair estimates
• Valid driver's licence

Required skills

• Good PC skills
• Adaptable to new technology
