Project Operator – Oil & Gas (Redwater, AB)

About the role

We are seeking a Project Operator to support a major oil and gas client on a contract basis through the end of 2026 (with possible extension). The role is based in Redwater, AB and involves overseeing construction, commissioning and start‑up activities while ensuring safety and coordination across multiple teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high safety standards throughout construction, tie‑ins, outages, commissioning and start‑up.
• Conduct regular interface meetings with project CMT, construction, operations and maintenance teams.
• Review and coordinate project design drawings from various document control groups.
• Plan and organise tie‑ins/outages with support from the Project Operations Coordinator.
• Manage daily field activities, safe work permits, site visits and job walk‑downs.
• Build and execute LOTO procedures while minimizing impact on live facilities.
• Collaborate with OMC, main operations, maintenance, engineering and cavern teams to resolve work‑scope conflicts.
• Provide night‑shift coverage as required for construction milestones.

Required profile

• Experience in a brownfield environment, preferably with NGL fractionation (paraffins & olefins), rail, truck loading and cavern operations.
• Self‑learner able to prioritise multiple concurrent work scopes.
• Ability to lead and foster an inclusive work environment.
