Project Estimator (Nuclear)

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Power Generation team is seeking a Project Estimator to lead bid development for engineering, procurement and construction projects in the nuclear power sector. The role is based in Pickering and reports to the Director of Proposals & Commercial Management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, development and submission of project bids in response to client RFPs.
• Prepare cost estimates for materials, labour and equipment based on drawings, specifications and quotations.
• Advise on tendering procedures, analyze tenders, recommend awards and conduct negotiations.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, conduct site and tender reviews, and support project closing.
• Develop WBS, schedules and quantity take‑offs to support budgeting and change management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline, or technical diploma with relevant experience.
• 3+ years estimating experience on construction/power generation projects, including high‑risk, complex projects.
• Proven knowledge of industry standards and cost estimating software.
• Strong communication, analytical and organizational abilities.
